Spec-tire contracts and electric rental tracks set the pace for go-kart tire demand

Global go-kart tires market revenue reached USD 386.40 Million in 2025, and Radial Insights expects USD 405.14 Million in 2026 and USD 620.47 Million by 2035, a 4.85% CAGR.

The go-kart tires market covers dry slicks, wet tires and treaded tires fitted to racing karts, rental and indoor karts and private recreational karts, sold as new sets to series promoters, teams, track operators and individual drivers. We exclude tires for lawn tractors, golf carts, ATVs and micromobility scooters, as well as used and scuffed sets traded between drivers.

Demand is shaped less by vehicle counts and more by rules. A single class rulebook, such as the Rotax MAX Challenge technical regulation that allows one dry set and one wet set per event, fixes how many sets each entrant buys. Tenders run by the FIA and by national federations decide which brand captures that volume for two or three seasons at a time, which makes the go-kart tires market unusually concentrated around contract wins.

Electric Karts are the fastest segment, with a 7.86% CAGR, because indoor operators such as K1 Speed, which reached 107 locations by June 2026, run electric fleets that wear treaded and hard compounds through hundreds of sessions a week. Asia Pacific (APAC) is the fastest region at 6.10%, helped by new circuits and FIA Arrive and Drive events in Malaysia.

Europe stays the largest buyer at 38.50% of 2025 revenue, anchored by Italian manufacturers LeCont and Vega and by the WSK, FIA and IAME calendars that run from March to November each year.

Slick dry tires lead the tire type split, while treaded rental tires grow fastest at 5.31%

Slick dry tires remain the core product because every sprint class from Mini to KZ races on slicks, and rulebooks such as the 2026 Rotax regulation tie each entrant to one new dry set per event. Their 4.62% CAGR tracks entry growth. Wet tires grow at 4.98% after the FIA's June 2026 rule that all OK, Junior, KZ and KZ2 drivers must start a wet final on new wet tires. Treaded rental and leisure tires rise at 5.31% as indoor centers add tracks and extend operating hours.

Hard long-life compounds gain share of growth at 5.44%

Soft and prime compounds, used in national and international championships, grow at 4.71%. Medium and option compounds grow at 4.90% as club series pick a single tire that lasts a full weekend to cut costs. Hard long-life compounds post the highest rate, 5.44%, because rental operators and arrive and drive formats want tires that last weeks rather than one race day.

Electric karts post a 7.86% CAGR as indoor operators move away from petrol

Petrol racing karts still account for most tire sets sold, but their 4.18% CAGR reflects mature entry numbers in Europe and North America. Rental petrol karts grow at only 4.07% as operators convert fleets. Electric karts deliver instant torque and run indoors under heavy duty cycles, so tires on these fleets wear faster per hour, lifting the segment to 7.86%.

Rental and indoor tracks outgrow competition racing at 5.72%

Competition racing grows at 4.45%, supported by new championships such as Champions of the Future America, which launched in January 2026. Rental and indoor tracks grow at 5.72% on new site openings. Recreational and private use, mostly owners running on club circuits, grows at 4.36%.

Online retail grows at 6.94% while promoter contracts stay the backbone

Direct supply to series and promoters grows at 4.66% because most spec tires are sold through the event, often with barcode registration. Kart shops and distributors grow at 4.58%. Online retail rises at 6.94% as private drivers and small clubs order sets and wet tires from specialist web stores.

Market Dynamics

Market Trends

Governing bodies are moving to multi-year tire tenders

The FIA ran a tender for carburetors that kept Dell'Orto as KZ supplier for 2026 to 2028, announced in May 2026, and it uses the same three-year model for tires. Maxxis holds the FIA OK, OK-N and OK-Junior contract for 2024 to 2026, so the award for 2027 onward is the next large prize. For brands, one tender win can move several thousand sets a year.

Supplier changes now happen mid-season

In July 2025 the FIA ended its KZ agreement with Anderson CSK-Motorsport, which had supplied Dunlop tires, with immediate effect, and LeCont took over from the Mulsen round of 17 to 20 July 2025. In January 2026 the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Trophy in Texas switched to Evinco tires, citing supply issues. Promoters now ask for buffer stock and backup suppliers in contracts.

New spec series give second-tier brands a route to volume

In January 2026 the AMP Kart Championship Series at Atlanta Motorsports Park chose MG Tires SH2 and SM2 as its spec tire. Champions of the Future America, run with K1 Speed, chose Presa by Maxxis for all classes and offered prizes worth over USD 130,000 at its first round from 30 January to 1 February 2026.

Arrive and drive formats widen the buyer base

The FIA Arrive and Drive World Cup in Malaysia on 19 to 22 November 2026 will run on Vega tires, and MG Tires won the FIA Arrive and Drive South American Championships tender for 2026 to 2027. Because the organizer supplies karts and tires, a single purchase covers every entrant.

Restraints and Challenges

Single-supplier contracts concentrate risk

When one brand holds a class, any quality or delivery problem hits the whole grid. The FIA's mid-season KZ change in July 2025, set out in its official announcement, showed how quickly a contract can end. Losing bidders can be left with stock built for a compound no series uses.

Cost caps limit sets per driver

The Rotax 2026 global technical regulation allows one dry set and one wet set per event from qualifying to final. These rules keep the sport affordable but cap tire revenue per entrant, so growth must come from more drivers and more events.

Tire treatment bans add policing costs

The same Rotax rule bans any modification or chemical treatment of tires and recommends a detector with a 4 ppm limit. Promoters must buy test equipment and train scrutineers, and brands must supply compounds that pass these checks while still giving grip.

Raw material and freight costs squeeze small makers

Kart tires are made in small batches by firms such as Vega, LeCont and Heidenau. Higher costs for synthetic rubber, carbon black and shipping to Asia and the Americas cut margins, because spec prices are often fixed for the full contract period.

Growth Drivers

Rising competition licenses lift set demand

The FIA Global Karting Plan, published in May 2025, reported that more than 1,000 drivers took part in the National Karting Ranking in 2024 and that over 1,500 were expected in 2025, a 50% rise. The FIA also reached out to 59 national sporting authorities to grow grassroots karting. Each new licensed driver who races a ten-round club series with one dry set per event needs about ten slick sets a year plus wet sets, which converts entry growth directly into tire revenue. The 25th Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain in late 2025 drew 400 drivers from 60 nations, up from 360 drivers from 59 countries in 2017. We estimate this driver adds about +1.4% of annual growth to the go-kart tires market through 2035, with the largest effect in Europe and Latin America.

Electric indoor karting multiplies tire wear per site

K1 Speed opened its first Alabama track in Irondale in June 2026 and reached 107 locations worldwide, up from 83 locations in seven countries in January 2024. TeamSport runs more than 42 indoor tracks in the UK and Europe and welcomes over 1.3 million visitors in an average year. An indoor kart may run eight to ten sessions per hour on polished concrete, so a busy site replaces tires many times a year. Electric karts deliver full torque from standstill, which raises wear per lap. Operators buy hard and treaded compounds in bulk through distributors or direct contracts. This driver is worth roughly +1.1 percentage points on the market CAGR, and it is the main reason electric karts grow at 7.86%.

New spec series and tenders create fresh volume

Series launched or re-tendered in 2025 and 2026 give tire brands guaranteed buyers. The IAME Euro Series runs MG SM2 and SW2 tires in X30 Senior, MG SH2 and SW2 in X30 Junior and Komet K1D tires in X30 Mini from March to August 2026. LeCont was named exclusive FIA supplier for KZ, KZ2 and KZ2 Masters in January 2026. Vega holds the 2026 FIA Arrive and Drive World Cup. Every new series of 60 to 120 entrants over six to eight rounds creates demand for several hundred to over a thousand sets a season. We attribute close to +0.9% a year of market growth to new spec series, a contribution that rises in tender years such as 2027.

Opportunities

Arrive and drive packages in emerging regions

Organizers in Asia Pacific (APAC), the Middle East and South America favor arrive and drive events because they remove the cost of owning a kart. Tire makers that bundle tires, data on wear and on-site technical support can win multi-year deals, as MG Tires did in South America for 2026 to 2027.

Purpose-built compounds for electric fleets

Few brands sell compounds designed for the torque and indoor surfaces of electric rental karts. A long-life tread with low marking on sealed concrete would appeal to operators such as K1 Speed and TeamSport, which care more about cost per session than lap time.

Europe holds the largest share while Asia Pacific (APAC) grows fastest

Europe

Europe accounted for 38.50% of go-kart tire revenue in 2025. Europe was worth USD 148.76 Million in 2025 and will reach USD 222.33 Million by 2035, a 4.10% CAGR. Italy hosts LeCont and Vega, and the WSK Super Master Series, the FIA championships and the IAME Euro Series, which ran from Zuera in March 2026 to Genk in August 2026, keep European demand steady. TeamSport's network of more than 42 tracks adds rental volume in the UK.

North America

North America held a 26.80% share in 2025. North America generated USD 103.56 Million in 2025 and is forecast to reach USD 159.29 Million in 2035, growing at 4.40% a year. K1 Speed's 107 locations, the SKUSA calendar with Evinco and MG tires and new series such as Champions of the Future America and the AMP Kart Championship Series support demand in North America.

Asia Pacific (APAC)

Asia Pacific (APAC) represented 22.40% of 2025 revenue. Asia Pacific (APAC) was valued at USD 86.55 Million in 2025 and is projected at USD 156.47 Million by 2035, the fastest rate at 6.10%. Maxxis is based in Taiwan, Malaysia hosts the FIA Arrive and Drive World Cup in November 2026, and Karting Australia reported about 4.5% higher licence fee revenue in its 2025 annual report.

Latin America

Latin America took 6.30% of 2025 revenue. Latin America was worth USD 24.34 Million in 2025 and should reach USD 41.98 Million in 2035, a 5.60% CAGR. Brazil's long karting tradition and the 2026 to 2027 FIA Arrive and Drive South American Championships, supplied by MG Tires, support growth in Latin America.

Middle East

The Middle East held 4.20% in 2025. The Middle East market was valued at USD 16.23 Million in 2025 and is projected at USD 28.79 Million by 2035, growing at 5.90%. Bahrain hosted the 2025 Rotax Grand Finals with 400 drivers, and Komet supplies IAME series in the UAE.

Africa

Africa represented 1.80% of 2025 revenue. Africa was worth USD 6.96 Million in 2025 and is forecast to reach USD 11.88 Million in 2035, a 5.50% CAGR. South Africa holds most of the region's club circuits and Rotax entries, and imported sets carry high freight costs in Africa.

Contract wins, not retail shelf space, decide who leads the go-kart tire business

The go-kart tires market is held by about ten specialist makers. Leadership changes with tenders, so a brand's share in any year depends on which championships it supplies. We group the field into four tiers.

FIA and international championship suppliers

Maxxis International, the Taiwanese tire group, holds the FIA OK, OK-N and OK-Junior contract for 2024 to 2026 and supplies the Academy Trophy. Its Presa by Maxxis line also serves Champions of the Future America. LeCont, based in Italy, supplies FIA KZ classes in 2025 and 2026 and the OK and KZ2 classes at WSK for a seventh straight year, and its Levanto brand serves the ROK Cup. Vega Tyres, also Italian, supplies WSK Mini and junior classes and the 2026 FIA Arrive and Drive World Cup.

One-make series specialists

Heidenau, the German maker behind Mojo tires, is the only brand in every Rotax MAX Challenge class, which gives it a global base across national Rotax series and the Grand Finals. MG Tires supplies the IAME Euro Series senior and junior classes, the AMP series and the FIA Arrive and Drive South American Championships, and sponsors the SKUSA SuperNationals. Komet supplies IAME Mini classes and IAME events in the UAE.

Regional and North American brands

Evinco is strong in the United States through SKUSA compounds and the 2026 Rotax Winter Trophy. Hoosier Racing Tire serves dirt-oval karting and quarter-midget racing. Shinko Tires was a bidder in the FIA KZ tender for 2024 to 2026.

Large tire groups with smaller karting roles

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, through its Dunlop brand, supplied FIA KZ classes from 2024 until July 2025. Bridgestone stopped supplying kart tires at the end of 2022, which opened room for Maxxis, LeCont and Vega. Competition centers on compound consistency, ability to deliver thousands of sets to each round on time, and price per set fixed for the contract period.
