The Global Tire Manufacturer Facility Database is the manufacturing counterpart to the Radial Insights Tire Industry Taxonomy: a plant-level census of where the world's tires are actually built. It tracks 284 active, suspended and under-construction facilities operated by 41 manufacturers across 38 countries, from century-old flagship sites, like Continental's 1871 Hannover plant, to capacity that only began rolling off the line in 2025.
Each entry carries the parent company and HQ country, global and country-level region, plant name and city, operating status, year established, installed capacity and 2024 production volume in thousand units per year, utilization rate, the tire types and vehicle segments produced, construction type, primary export markets, and a note on recent investment or status changes.
Coverage spans Tier 1 global leaders such as Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Continental and Sumitomo down to Tier 3 niche and economy producers, and captures the shifts currently reshaping the map: Continental's and Pirelli's suspended Russian plants, tariff-avoidance capacity added in Vietnam and Cambodia by Sailun and Triangle, and the zero-emission Oradea, Romania facilities that both Michelin and Nokian brought online in 2025. Across the full dataset, installed capacity totals roughly 2.68 billion units per year against 2.47 billion units actually produced in 2024, a blended utilization rate of about 92%.
Japan, China, India, South Korea and Southeast Asia anchor the largest regional base, led by Bridgestone, Michelin and the fast-expanding Chinese exporters.
Concentrated in Germany, France, Italy and Central/Eastern Europe, with new zero-emission capacity in Romania and Serbia offsetting suspended Russian sites.
US, Brazil and Mexico dominate, with South Carolina alone hosting flagship plants for both Michelin and Goodyear.
