Motorcycle TPMS Is Moving From Premium Touring Bikes Into the 125-300cc Mass Market
Radial Insights values the motorcycle tire pressure monitoring systems market at USD 312.40 Million in 2025, rising to USD 343.17 Million in 2026 and USD 799.30 Million by 2035 at a 9.85% CAGR. Growth comes less from new technology and more from where the sensor is now being fitted.
For a decade, factory-fitted tire pressure monitoring on two-wheelers sat almost entirely on large adventure and touring motorcycles from BMW Motorrad, Ducati, KTM and Triumph. That changed in 2025 and 2026. TVS listed TPMS on the built-to-order Apache RTX 300 in October 2025, Hero MotoCorp added it to the Xtreme 250R Carbon in October 2026, and Simple Energy made it standard on the OneS electric scooter in March 2025. Each of these models sells at a price point 5 to 15 times below a premium adventure bike, and each pairs the sensor with a TFT dashboard that already has the wireless receiver built in.
Our scope covers direct, wheel-mounted pressure and temperature sensors for motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, the receiver or display that shows the reading, and the aftermarket retrofit kits sold through dealers and online. Revenue is counted at the sensor and display level, at OEM supply price for factory fitment and at retail price for aftermarket kits. We exclude passenger car and commercial vehicle TPMS, portable tire gauges, TPMS service tools, and all-terrain vehicles, which sit in separate Radial Insights studies.
Commuter motorcycles in the 125-300cc band form the fastest segment, advancing at 13.80% a year through 2035 as Indian and Chinese makers copy features from their premium lines. Asia Pacific (APAC) is the fastest region at 11.20%, driven by India, which sold 21,705,974 two-wheelers domestically in FY2026, and China, which produced 22.11 million motorcycles in 2025.
The motorcycle tire pressure monitoring systems market still has a low base: we estimate fewer than 1 in 15 new motorcycles worldwide left the factory with direct TPMS in 2025. That penetration gap, rather than unit price, sets the ceiling for the next decade.

Valve-Stem Sensors Lead Because OEMs Prefer Them Inside the Rim
Valve-stem mounted sensors sit inside the wheel, are protected from theft and weather, and read air temperature as well as pressure. They are the default for factory programs at BMW Motorrad and Ducati and grow at 10.30% a year. Valve-cap external sensors, the format behind most retrofit kits such as FOBO and Steelmate, grow at 8.10% because they are easy to fit but exposed to theft and impact. Rim band-mounted sensors, which strap to the inside of spoked or tubeless rims, grow at 9.20% as adventure bikes with spoked tubeless wheels gain share.
TFT Integration Explains the Widest Gap in the Study
Integrated TFT dashboard displays expand at 12.40% a year, compared with 5.40% for standalone handlebar displays. Hero MotoCorp's updated Xtreme 125R, reported by 91wheels in August 2026, shows the model: a sensor on each wheel feeds the low-pressure warning straight to the TFT screen, with no separate unit on the bars. Bluetooth smartphone apps sit in between at 9.60%, supported by riders who already mount a phone for navigation.
Commuter and Electric Two-Wheelers Outpace the Premium Segments
Commuter motorcycles of 125-300cc grow at 13.80% a year from a small base, and electric two-wheelers grow at 12.90%. Both rates reflect first-time fitment rather than replacement. Adventure and touring motorcycles, the historic core of the motorcycle tire pressure monitoring systems market, grow more slowly at 8.70% because many premium models already carry TPMS as standard or as a factory option. Sport and naked motorcycles grow at 9.10%, and cruisers at 7.20%, where tube-type spoked wheels still limit fitment.
OEM Fitment Overtakes the Retrofit Channel
OEM-fitted systems grow at 11.10% a year and aftermarket kits at 7.40%. As more bikes leave the factory with sensors, the retrofit buyer pool shrinks over time, although sensor battery replacement after 5 to 7 years keeps a steady aftermarket flow for valve-stem units.

Market Dynamics
Market Trends
Indian Makers Are Pushing TPMS Below Rs 2 Lakh
In October 2025, TVS launched the Apache RTX 300 at Rs 1.99 lakh, with TPMS on the Rs 2.29 lakh built-to-order version. In October 2026, Hero MotoCorp priced the Xtreme 250R Carbon at Rs 1.98 lakh with cruise control and TPMS. These two launches put the feature on bikes priced around USD 2,300 to 2,700, a fraction of the USD 39,995 Ducati asks for the 2026 Diavel V4 RS, where TPMS remains optional.
Electric Scooters Treat TPMS as a Standard Safety Feature
Simple Energy launched the OneS in March 2025 at Rs 1.40 lakh with a 181 km range, listing TPMS as standard next to Park Assist and Find My Vehicle. Electric scooter makers have already paid for connectivity, screens and apps, so tire data adds little cost and fits the range-anxiety message: underinflated tires raise rolling resistance and cut range.
China Is Standardizing the Tire Pressure Warning Symbol
In June 2025, Chinese media reported a new batch of national standards that includes a revised standard on graphic symbols for motorcycle and moped controls and indicators. It adds a tire pressure alarm symbol and takes effect on January 1, 2026. This is not a fitment mandate, but it gives Chinese OEMs a common telltale for dashboards and signals that regulators expect the feature to spread.
Premium Imports to India Now Carry TPMS by Default
Triumph's 2026 India range, launched in May 2026, lists TPMS on the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert editions. In June 2026, Ducati launched the Multistrada V4 Rally in India at Rs 32.40 lakh with TPMS alongside forward collision warning. In October 2026, Benelli priced the TRK 552 at Rs 7.22 lakh and the TRK 552X at Rs 7.74 lakh, both with TPMS. Mid-weight adventure bikes from these brands are where Indian riders first meet the feature.
Restraints and Challenges
Tube-Type and Spoked Wheels Limit the Addressable Fleet
Most entry-level motorcycles in India, Southeast Asia and Africa still run tube-type tires on spoked or basic steel rims. Direct valve-stem sensors need a tubeless rim, so a large share of the 21.97 million motorcycles China sold in 2025 and the 21.7 million two-wheelers India sold in FY2026 cannot take a factory sensor without a wheel redesign. This keeps penetration low in the highest-volume segments.
Europe's Shrinking Registrations Slow the Premium Core
The European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers reported 1,002,848 motorcycle registrations across France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK in 2025, down about 12.9% from 1,150,852 in 2024, while moped registrations fell about 20.7% (ACEM). Europe is the region with the highest share of TPMS-equipped premium bikes, so weaker volumes there trim near-term OEM sensor demand.
No Fitment Mandate Exists for Two-Wheelers
Passenger cars in the US, EU, China and other markets must carry TPMS, which created a guaranteed volume base for car sensors. No major market requires TPMS on motorcycles, and India's 2025-26 safety proposals for two-wheelers focus on ABS and helmets. Without a rule, fitment depends on OEM product planning and rider willingness to pay.
Battery Life and Theft Weaken the Aftermarket Case
Sensor batteries typically last 5 to 7 years and cannot be replaced in most sealed valve-stem units, so riders face a full sensor purchase later in the bike's life. Valve-cap sensors are exposed and easy to steal, which deters buyers in urban markets. Both factors limit repeat purchases in the aftermarket channel.
Growth Drivers
TFT Dashboards Are Becoming Standard on 125-300cc Motorcycles
Connected TFT screens with Bluetooth receivers have spread quickly through India's 125-300cc segment, and once the screen and receiver are on the bike, a direct TPMS adds only two sensors and calibration software to the bill of materials. Hero MotoCorp's updated Xtreme 125R, reported in August 2026 with a TFT screen and integrated TPMS, would be the first in its class. TVS's Apache RTX 300 of October 2025 follows the same pattern. India's domestic two-wheeler wholesales rose 10.7% to 21,705,974 units in FY2026, according to SIAM data, so even a small rise in fitment rate on this volume moves the global total. We estimate this driver adds about +2.1% to annual market growth through 2035, the largest single contribution in our model. Suppliers such as Huf Baolong Electronics, Shanghai Baolong Automotive and Continental gain because Indian and Chinese OEMs source sensors in high volumes at prices well below European touring programs.
China's Mid- and Large-Displacement Boom Expands TPMS-Ready Models
The China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce reported 2025 production of 22.11 million units, up 10.69%, and sales of 952,300 motorcycles above 250cc, up 25.87%. Exports reached 13.37 million units worth USD 8.85 billion. Brands such as CFMoto, QJ Motor, Benelli and Voge build their export ranges around feature lists that include TFT screens and TPMS, and Benelli's October 2026 India pricing for the TRK 552 shows those features reaching new markets. The new tire pressure alarm symbol that applies in China from January 2026 also gives these OEMs a uniform display standard. We attribute roughly +1.4% of yearly CAGR to China's larger-displacement and export growth, with Shanghai Baolong Automotive and Steelmate positioned as domestic suppliers.
Premium Adventure Bikes Keep Raising the Specification Baseline
BMW Motorrad pioneered factory TPMS on its GS and touring lines, and Ducati, Triumph and KTM now offer it widely. Ducati's Multistrada V4 Rally reached India in June 2026 at Rs 32.40 lakh with TPMS, and Triumph's Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert editions carry it in the 2026 India range. Honda, the largest motorcycle maker, sold a record 20,572,000 units at group level in the year to March 2025 and forecast 21,300,000 for the following year. When the premium tier treats TPMS as expected equipment, mid-range models follow within two to three product cycles. This trickle-down effect contributes close to +0.9 percentage points of annual growth over the forecast, and it supports sensor suppliers like Sensata Technologies (Schrader), Continental and Pacific Industrial, which hold long OEM programs.
Opportunities
Electric Two-Wheeler Platforms Can Monetize Tire Data
Electric scooter makers such as Simple Energy and Ather already run apps, over-the-air updates and range estimators. Tire pressure data can feed range predictions and service reminders, and suppliers that offer sensors with open data interfaces can win platform deals as electric two-wheeler volumes grow at double-digit rates in India and Southeast Asia.
Sensor Replacement Creates a Recurring Aftermarket
As the installed base of factory sensors grows, batteries reaching end of life after 5 to 7 years will create a replacement cycle similar to the car TPMS aftermarket. Universal programmable motorcycle sensors and dealer programming tools are an open opportunity for firms like Orange Electronic and Huf Baolong Electronics.
Asia Pacific Holds 41.50% of Demand and Adds the Most New Revenue Through 2035
Asia Pacific (APAC)
Asia Pacific (APAC) accounts for 41.50% of the motorcycle tire pressure monitoring systems market in 2025, worth USD 129.65 Million. The region reaches USD 374.81 Million by 2035 at an 11.20% CAGR, the fastest of any region. India's 21.7 million domestic two-wheeler sales in FY2026 and China's 22.11 million units of 2025 production give APAC the largest volume base, and the region's fitment rate is rising fastest because Hero MotoCorp, TVS and Chinese brands are adding TPMS to mid-priced models.
Europe
Europe holds 27.80% of 2025 revenue, valued at USD 86.85 Million, and grows at 8.30% a year to USD 192.77 Million by 2035. European registrations across the five largest markets fell to 1,002,848 motorcycles in 2025, but the region has the highest TPMS fitment rate on new bikes because of its heavy mix of BMW Motorrad, Ducati, Triumph and KTM adventure and touring models.
North America
North America represents 18.60% of the market, or USD 58.11 Million in 2025, and expands at 8.70% a year to USD 133.82 Million by 2035. Demand in North America centers on large touring, cruiser and adventure motorcycles, where riders cover long distances; Ducati's USD 39,995 Diavel V4 RS, arriving in the US in January 2026, offers TPMS as an option. Aftermarket kits from Doran Manufacturing and Garmin-compatible sensors serve the older fleet.
Latin America
Latin America has a 6.40% share, worth USD 19.99 Million in 2025, and grows at 10.10% a year to USD 52.33 Million by 2035. Brazil and Mexico lead Latin America volume, and the region increasingly imports Chinese and Indian motorcycles whose export trims carry TFT screens and TPMS.
Middle East
The Middle East holds 3.40% of the market, valued at USD 10.62 Million in 2025, and grows at 9.40% a year to USD 26.08 Million by 2035. High ambient temperatures in the Gulf raise tire failure risk, and premium motorcycle buyers in the Middle East favor touring and adventure models with full electronics packages.
Africa
Africa accounts for 2.30% of revenue, or USD 7.19 Million in 2025, and expands at 10.60% a year to USD 19.68 Million by 2035. Africa's motorcycle fleet is dominated by commuter and taxi bikes on tube-type tires, so growth comes from a small base of tubeless commuter and electric models in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
| Region | 2025 (USD Million) | 2025 share | 2035 (USD Million) | CAGR 2025-2035 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Asia Pacific (APAC) | 129.65 | 41.50% | 374.81 | 11.20% |

Car TPMS Suppliers Control OEM Programs, While Retrofit Brands Fight for the Aftermarket
The motorcycle tire pressure monitoring systems market is supplied by two very different groups. Large automotive TPMS makers win factory programs because they already produce hundreds of millions of car sensors and can adapt them to motorcycle rims. Smaller specialist brands sell valve-cap and Bluetooth kits to riders who want to add monitoring to older bikes. Motorcycle OEMs themselves shape demand through how they bundle TPMS with TFT screens.
Global Automotive Sensor Majors
Sensata Technologies, through its Schrader brand, is the largest TPMS sensor maker worldwide and marked 40 years of TPMS in 2025; it supplies direct sensors for motorcycles alongside its car business. Continental supplies OE sensors through its VDO line and is a partner to several European motorcycle makers. Pacific Industrial of Japan supplies TPMS valves and sensors to Japanese OEMs, which gives it a route into Honda and Yamaha programs as fitment grows.
Chinese and Taiwanese Volume Suppliers
Huf Baolong Electronics and its parent Shanghai Baolong Automotive produce TPMS at high volume for Chinese OEMs and are best placed for China's 22.11 million unit motorcycle output. Orange Electronic of Taiwan makes OE and aftermarket sensors and programmable units. Steelmate sells aftermarket motorcycle kits with handlebar displays across Asia and online channels.
Aftermarket and Retrofit Specialists
Cayson's FOBO Bike 2 is a Bluetooth valve-cap system read through a smartphone app and is one of the best-known retrofit products. Fit2Go is the UK licensee behind the Michelin-branded TPMS Bike retrofit kit. Doran Manufacturing in the US sells the 360M wireless motorcycle TPMS, and Garmin offers tire pressure sensors that pair with its zumo motorcycle navigators, which suits long-distance touring riders.
Motorcycle OEMs Setting the Pace of Fitment
BMW Motorrad made factory TPMS mainstream on its GS and touring models, and Ducati Motor Holding offers it across the Multistrada and Diavel lines. In India, TVS Motor Company and Hero MotoCorp are now the pace-setters, integrating sensors into TFT dashboards on bikes priced near Rs 2 lakh. Their sourcing choices over the next three years will decide which supplier group wins the largest share of new volume.

Primary Interview Insights
Why are Indian makers adding TPMS to 250cc bikes now?
Product planners told us the TFT screen and Bluetooth module are already paid for, so TPMS is a low-cost way to differentiate. Several said the feature costs less than a premium paint option at the bill-of-materials level.
What limits fitment on high-volume commuter bikes?
Suppliers said tube-type tires and spoked rims are the main barrier, not sensor price. They expect fitment to follow the shift to alloy wheels and tubeless tires.
Which retrofit kits sell best?
Retailers reported that Bluetooth valve-cap kits sell most because they install in minutes, but theft complaints are common in cities. Touring riders more often pay for internal valve-stem kits fitted at a tire shop.
How do dealers handle sensor replacement?
Dealers said most sealed sensors need full replacement once the battery fails after 5 to 7 years. They want universal programmable motorcycle sensors to cut stock levels.
How do EV makers use tire pressure data?
Electric scooter makers told us they feed tire data into range estimates and service alerts in their apps. They see it as a safety feature that also supports their range claims.
